Naturena bathing lake
Experience this special kind of bathing pleasure at the "Naturena Badesee" natural adventure pool in Birkendorf. The smart natural bathing lake in a unique location offers visitors a swimmers' and non-swimmers' pool with diving rocks and jetty. The playground with mud play area and children's pool are popular with the little ones!
The pure spring water is purified in a regeneration pond with a gravel filter.
A special kind of bathing experience
In 2002, the ageing Waldbad was converted into a smart natural bathing lake in a unique location. In addition to a large bathing lake with swimmers' and non-swimmers' pools, diving rocks and a footbridge into the water, there is also a playground with a mud play area and a children's pool!
The pure spring water is purified in a regeneration pond with a gravel filter. Microorganisms and plants replace the usual chlorine and ensure hygienically perfect water. A fact that is confirmed by weekly samples. Enjoy the benefits of a natural swimming lake, combined with a beach volleyball court, a boules court and a small catering area.
Not to be forgotten: The information centre of the nature conservation association NABU! Here you and your children can learn interesting facts about the local flora and fauna.

From the Hotel Sonnenhof-Sonnhalde, swimming in pure spring water is just a stone's throw away. Walk along the Hohlgasse towards the forest as far as the Braun sawmill, then turn left towards the bathing lake. Or drive in the direction of Igelschlatt. The Naturena bathing lake is also easy to reach by e-bike.
